In a world where light symbolizes progress, safety, and opportunity, access to sustainable and safe lighting can transform lives. The Shine on Rwanda Project, a collaboration between Let There Be Light International and NPO Think About Education in Rwanda (NPO TER), has reached an inspiring milestone: over 1200 have been distributed in Gicumbi District offgrid communities.
The true success of the project lies in the lives it has transformed. For Cyuzuzo Joueyese and their three siblings, the solar light has brought new opportunities and strengthened family bonds.
“Now we revise and do homework together,” Cyuzuzo shared. “We also help the younger ones with their studies. The light has made it easier to complete house chores and improved our connection as siblings.”
This story is echoed across the Rwamiko Sector, where students now have a reliable light source to study after dark, parents can carry out their evening activities safely, and entire households benefit from a cleaner and brighter living environment.
